Ashley and Jorge had never even been to Italy, let along Ravello when they planned their Ravello wedding at Hotel Caruso on the Amalfi Coast.

Ashley and Jorge were planning a simple elopement in Italy when they came across my Amalfi Coast elopement inspiration shoot that Junebug Weddings published. In Ashley’s words “it was beautiful, and we immediately knew that was our location.” Their Ravello wedding at Hotel Caruso on the Amalfi Coast began with that simple elopement idea and turned into an intimate affair for 20 of their closest friends and family in Ravello.

Ashley and Jorge’s plans for an intimate elopement in Italy grew a little bigger once their family and friends found out. Their elopement became an intimate Ravello wedding. They hosted their ceremony at the ruins of the Basilica of Sant’Eustachio. Once one of the finest churches in the Republic of Amalfi, the basilica was built in the 12th century. Although all that is left is ruins, standing before the remaining stone architecture, holding hands with Jorge and saying their vows was the highlight of Ashley’s Amalfi Coast wedding.

After making the trek up the narrow winding pathway and back to Ravello, the Belmond Hotel Caruso hosted their wedding reception on a terrace of olive and lemon trees with views of the sea. The weather was perfect, and after dinner, the party moved to the swimming pool. The gorgeous infinity pool is set at the highest point in Ravello with panoramic views of the coast. The end of the night wrapped up with Ashley and Jorge and their guests jumping into the pool to cool off.

Ashley and Jorge entrusted their Ravello wedding at Hotel Caruso to Catherine from The Wedding Boutique Italy. Catherine’s local knowledge of the area and expertise with all aspects of florals and styling created an amazing romantic wedding day.

What was your favourite photo from your wedding?

Ashley: We loved every single photo but our favourite and most unique is the underwater picture. We went underwater in our wedding attire for a quick kiss and Tara was able to capture something incredible.

How was your experience with Tara Lilly Photography?

Ashley: I will never stop raving about Tara Lilly photography. Every aspect of our wedding was captured. The scenery, details, candid and posed shots all give you a true feeling of our wedding day. Tara is amazingly talented and just an amazing person to be with. All of our guests loved her and the pictures I’ve posted on social media are constantly getting compliments.
