Surrounded by the natural beauty of Whistler, Steph and Lance’s Fairmont Whistler Wedding set the perfect scene for their special day. When it came time for Steph and Lance to decide on a location, there was no doubt it would have to be in the beautiful mountains they call home.

Steph and Lance’s Fairmont Whistler Wedding brought together family from across the country and is described by Steph as “simply perfect”.
“Lance and I have been living in Whistler for 9 years now and it truly has become home. We love the mountains and the pristine beauty here, with endless opportunities for adventure. We are so thrilled to show all of our loved ones where we live and how amazing this magical place can be. A summer wedding in Whistler is absolutely stunning. The golf course for the ceremony location was surrounded by trees and mountains, many of which we hike, bike and ski on. The Reception Venue at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is one of the most stunning venues in Whistler. The location also has so much cultural presence to the area.”
Steph and Lance faced some unexpected weather challenges on their wedding day, but thanks to great planning, everything was taken in stride!
“Like any outdoor wedding, there is always the challenge of weather. Though the sun was out and not a raindrop in sight, unfortunately, we faced forest fire season. It was a perfect start to the day with the exception of smoke filling the sky.. but that didn’t damper the day. With both the ceremony and dinner venues outside we had to consider how this would impact our guests. We were supposed to have dinner outside on the patio at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre with beautiful views of the mountains. We quickly made the decision to move it indoors. The venue itself is an outstanding culture museum!
Throughout the wedding day, Steph and Lance incorporated many meaningful and sentimental aspects.
“We had wedding favours were small bottles of maple syrup. Lance went home to help his dad harvest the syrup for the wedding! The veil belonged to my sister, and our rings are made from material from family stones and gold. Also, our best friend married us. We worked together to write the ceremony and our vows. It was truly reflective of who we are and was just perfect!”

In conclusion, we loved being a part of Steph & Lance’s Fairmont Whistler wedding and will always enjoy the images we created for them. In their words:
“The Experience with Tara and Steve was brilliant! They are amazing and absolutely talented. Despite the weather challenges, we knew our amazing photographers would turn our photos into gold.”
