In 2018, the Marilyn Denis show chose Nita Lake Lodge weddings as one of five Instagram–worthy wedding venues in all of Canada. Condé Nast Traveller also rated Nita Lake Lodge as the reader’s #1 choice for resorts in Canada and Buzzfeed named it one of 15 of the coolest wedding venues in Canada. The press that Nita Lake Lodge receives is well deserved as the Porte-Cochere is one of the most recognizable wedding ceremony locations in all of Whistler.

Nita Lake Lodge is a boutique luxury hotel and spa situated in Whistler’s Creekside Village and home to iconic Nita Lake Lodge weddings. Sitting on the shores of Nita Lake, the hotel has mountain views in every direction, is only steps to the Valley Trail system, and less than 500 meters to the Creekside gondola to access Whistler Blackcomb. Perfect for a dreamy winter ski wedding, or a perfect elegant summer celebration. The lodge itself hosts The Fix Café for the morning caffeine fix, The Cure Lounge for craft beer and cocktails as well as Aura for a fine dining experience well suited for a world-class resort. Can’t forget the on-site spa, nail salon and personal training centre. Nita Lake Lodge has every amenity available and is in a quiet corner of Whistler for a tranquil experience.

The hotel is reminiscent of early mountain lodges with exposed wood, a train-station and a Porte-cochere. The unique architecture provides three unique ceremony options and four reception options, all of which are unique from the cocktail hour venue options. Nita Lake Lodge weddings can host from an intimate elopement for two, up to a ballroom wedding of 140.

Catering – The culinary team is supported by Executive Chef James Olberg and you can choose from their carefully designed wedding menu or have a personalized menu created by the Chef.

Wedding Planning – A professional wedding planner is required to host a wedding at Nita Lake Lodge, for a minimum of Day-of Coordination. The Whistler planners that are familiar with Nita Lake Lodge weddings are very adept at transforming the lodge into idyllic spaces. Since Nita is so unique, we do recommend a planner that is familiar with the unique challenges!

Ceremony and Reception Options

Porte-cochere – the iconic ceremony location with views of Whistler Mountain and impressive cedar and fir architecture. The Porte-cochere is the more frequently used ceremony location and can seat up to 140 guests comfortably. The backdrop does have views of the street, so having a wedding planner with experience designing a backdrop is recommended. This covered space allows you to enjoy the mountain views and fresh air while still be protected from rain.

Aura Patio – the views from the lakeside Aura Patio are expansive, showcasing mountains, mature trees and beautiful Nita Lake. Seated capacity of 40 guests or standing capacity for 80.

Library – The Library is small, and romantic. Featuring natural window lighting and a large fireplace, it is cozy for intimate weddings with up to 30 seated guests. Perfect for all seasons as it is fully indoors. The Library can also be used for intimate candle-lit dinners.

Ballroom & Foyer – The most popular venue for Nita Lake Lodge weddings, the Ballroom can seat up to 140 guests while utilizing the naturally-lit foyer for cocktail hour. It has been recently renovated and to have a warm ambiance and modern finishes.

Aura Private Dining Room – The Aura fine dining restaurant provides a great option for an intimate wedding with views of Nita Lake. Long harvest tables suit Aura the best for an intimate family style dinner service.

Train Station – With seating for up to 50 guests, the Train Station features hardwood floors, large windows and soft decor tones.

The Cure Lounge – The Cure is a cozy lounge with a double-sided fireplace serving up a wide variety of craft cocktails. A great option for cocktail hour or just to hang out pre-wedding!
