Danika’s Outdoor Boudoir Session

When Danika inquired about a boudoir session before her upcoming wedding, we decided that an outdoor boudoir session in a Vancouver forest was perfect!

Danika is getting married in September and inquired with me about having a boudoir session before her wedding. After chatting about some options, we made a plan to shoot an outdoor boudoir session for her at a popular hiking trail in Vancouver. We set out early and had a great time creating some amazing images.

Here are Danika’s thoughts after her outdoor boudoir session!

“My initial motivation for doing the shoot with Tara was to give the pictures as a gift to my partner (we’re getting married in September). I hit up Victoria Secret, I looked at other “boudoir” pictures to get prepped, and I was super nervous. On a whim Tara and I decided to do the shoot outdoors.  When the cool April morning arrived and I was stripped down to my skivvies on a popular hiking trail in North Vancouver, I realized just how much I was actually doing this for myself. I felt confident and beautiful. I felt supported and encouraged by Tara and totally safe. This is completely contradictory to my expectations.  We wandered through the woods, laughing and chatting and Tara taking some pretty amazing pictures. A short time later when Tara sent me the album I was speechless (I think I actually wrote her and said, “Is that really me?”) I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to do this- to expose myself, to be so vulnerable and to have something beautiful to keep and cherish. Every woman should be so fortunate to show themselves like this and have it captured to remember it. Oh, and my hubby frickin’ loved them, too- win, win!” – Danika

I loved creating these images with Danika, and I am excited for more barefoot boudoir sessions this summer!
