Shay & Ryan flew up into the Rocky Mountains in a helicopter for photos on their wedding day. The results were breathtaking!

Shay & Ryan’s wedding day was set amongst the beautiful Rocky mountains of British Columbia. When they mentioned that they were planning on having a helicopter wedding photoshoot, we were really excited!

They met when Shay was only 17 and Ryan had travelled to the small mountain town of Valemount, BC for work. Ryan kept visiting the grocery store where Shay worked so they could talk and eventually they ended up spending the entire summer together. After a short period of long distance, they moved to Ontario together, before finally settling back in Valemount with their two beautiful children.

After 7 years together, they planned a wedding to celebrate with their closest friends and family. They chose the Valemount Pines Golf course for the ceremony and the Valemount community hall for their reception location. The exact same location where Shay’s parents were married 23 years earlier. While planning the wedding, they chose to incorporate the mountains they love so much by hiring a helicopter to fly them to a beautiful meadow.

The day of the wedding was a perfect blue sky day with just a few fluffy clouds. Right after the said their ‘I do’s’ we whisked them away to the helicopter pad. A short flight later, we were on a peak 8,700 feet above sea level. The views were breathtaking. The connection between Shay and Ryan was intense. After 7 years together, they were finally married. The emotion they were feeling and the connection they have was evident throughout the entire day.

After flying back to the wedding in the helicopter, the sun began to set perfectly. The mountains looked amazing and we stole Shay and Ryan for another few minutes before their dance party kicked off!
