Kyla & Gord celebrated their love at their elegant Nita Lake Lodge wedding, in the mountains of Whistler, British Columbia.

Kyla and Gordon decided to bring their closest friends and family to their Nita Lake Lodge wedding so they could escape the city, and have as much time as possible to soak up the experience. Their whole wedding day was fun, warm, and inviting. You could feel the love all around!

The couple first met in 2010, working at Nature’s Path Organic Foods. A few carpools, bike rides, movies, and barbecues later, they held hands on Kyla’s birthday. There were fireworks, and they have been together ever since.

After two years of adventures together, Gordon hid an engagement ring in Kyla’s advent calendar. On Christmas Eve, as she opened the day’s gift, Gordon got down on one knee and proposed.

Life is short, and the couple decided they didn’t want a long engagement. Six months later, they gathered at Nita Lake Lodge with their nearest and dearest to celebrate their marriage. They kept decor to a minimum to complement the stunning surroundings, and allowed the natural beauty to shine. They planned their wedding to reflect who they are as a couple, and the result was incredibly special. From the noisemakers on the chairs at the ceremony, to the puzzle piece guest book, their wedding was beautifully unique.

Their ceremony took place under the porte-cochere, with a view of Whistler Mountain.

“One of the most emotional and meaningful parts of the planning process was working with Janis on crafting our ceremony. It was so important for us to have it represent who we are, our love, and what marriage means to us. We’ve read it dozens of times and no doubt we will re-read it countless more times over the years. It was so special and encapsulated what was in our hearts, minds and spirits that day.”

Following the ceremony, everyone proceeded to a cocktail hour on the Aura Restaurant Patio. Dinner, speeches, and dancing followed in the ballroom, and they finished up the night with a roaring campfire and s’mores.

“It was a tidal wave of love. It felt amazing to be able to bring family and friends together to celebrate love and happiness.”
