Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Rachel & Brady | Tara Lilly Photography

Rachel and Brady got married on the shores of Lake Okanagan in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia. I was lucky enough to be their Kelowna wedding photographer.

Rachel and Brady met while attending university in Ottawa. Although they went to different schools, they would run into each other at parties and other social events. Their friends always commented on how happy they were when they were together, but it took until their final year before they became inseparable. Even though they were inseparable, and admitted they loved each other, the weren’t ‘dating’. Trying to be practical, responsible adults, they each wanted to pursue their own dreams and didn’t think a long distance relationship was feasible. Rachel would be moving back to Kelowna, BC at the end of the school year, and Brady would be headed back to Haliburton, On.

True love always perseveres, and 5 years later they tied the knot on the shores of Lake Okanagan in Lake Country, just outside of Rachel’s hometown of Kelowna. Friends and family travelled from all over North America to join them for a perfect day, with fluffy white clouds and only a few minutes of rain. They held their ceremony at Kopje Park, and then organized a wine tour for their guests before the reception kicked off at the Winfield Memorial Hall.

The MacGregor family has always been musical, (Rachel and her sister Alisha are award winning singer-songwriters) which helped make the day even more special. Rachel’s brother Seth and her uncle Andrew played all of the music for the ceremony, and Seth and Alisha both performed songs they had written for Rachel and Brady at the reception. Brady’s family brought their own artistry to the wedding as well, with a hilarious limerick performed by his uncle Barry but which was written by his grandfather who was unable to make the trip to Kelowna.

These two families were very welcoming and definitely knew how to party as well! Once the dance floor started up, it was packed the rest of the night! It didn’t even take very long for some shirts to come off!
